Progress of the Sodegaura City Energy Project - Chiba Prefecture, 2023
In Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture, efforts to utilize renewable energy have been underway since 2006, leading to the launch of the "Nakaso Clean Power" project, which harnesses local wind resources. In 2023, Mitsubishi Power announced the construction of a 1.95 GW natural gas-fired power plant, which is also designed to be compatible with hydrogen combustion. Furthermore, a 75 MW biomass power plant by Doosan Skoda Power is also planned, and Sodegaura City aims to establish a sustainable energy supply system that combines natural gas and biomass.
