ECLIPS Refuse Disposal Technology Status and Prospects - 2020s
ECLIPS waste treatment technology has been widely implemented in Xi'an and Shanghai, China, and is rapidly evolving in the 2020s. The technology detoxifies approximately 2,000 to 2,500 tons of industrial and domestic waste per day and seals out toxic substances such as heavy metals and dioxins through high-temperature treatment. The Shanghai plant processes approximately 910,000 tons of waste annually, 80% of which is reused for construction materials and other purposes. The Xi'an plant safely processes lead and cadmium from e-waste and recycles precious metals such as copper and gold. in 2023, the Shanghai Clean Energy Group used ECLIPS to treat 650,000 tons of waste, reducing CO₂ emissions by about 120,000 tons annually. The technology was developed by the China Academy of Environmental Sciences and Xi'an Environmental Technology Co. and is expected to be exported to other countries.
