Takahiko Inoue and the Yokosuka Family of the Inagawa-kai - Between Chivalry and Buddhism (1947-2013)

Takahiko Inoue (1947-2013) was a member of the Inagawa-kai Yokosuka family and a unique chivalrous figure who was also deeply devoted to Buddhism. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, he lived a rough life from his youth, and after working as a civil engineer in Yokohama, he joined the Yokosuka clan of the Inagawa-kai. His fierce personality earned him the nickname "Oni no Inoue," but in prison he encountered Buddhism, and since then he has strived to manage his clan based on ethics and faith. His stance of eliminating methamphetamine and extortion and helping the weak earned him respect in the community and within the organization. His life is also depicted in the book "Shura's Autobiography" and the V-cinema "Shura no Soul. In 2013, Inoue fell to his death in Tokyo, but his life, in which he tried to combine chivalry and Buddhism, is still unique today.
