Contradictions in the Waste Management System in the Name of Circulation Early 2000s
In the early 2000s, various recycling systems were established in Japan with the Basic Law for Establishing a Recycling-based Society as a pillar. Although the concept of resource recycling permeated the society, the system was strongly designed to prioritize economic efficiency, and the reduction of environmental burden was not always achieved.
