34000 tons of chemical substances discharged in Tokyo 1999.08.15

By examining the Tokyo metropolitan Government, we found that 91 chemical substances, which are carcinogenic and toxic, have been discharged to 34000 tons per year from factories and offices in Tokyo and air and rivers. Emissions from factories and offices are 91 substances, total of 31000 tons. The most common materials used in dyes and pigments are approximately 5700 tons of toluene. Then trichloroethane used for cleaning and solvents. In the industry, machine manufacturing and printing industry stood out.
