Tokyo Bay New Marine Landfill - Tokyo Bay, August 1995
The Tokyo Bay New Sea Surface Landfill was planned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Chiba Prefecture in 1995 and constructed off the coast of Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture. 480 hectares in size, it will accept 1.4 million tons of waste per year and process construction waste and incinerated ash. R promotion and resource recycling are being implemented to prolong the life of the facility. Environmental protection measures are strictly enforced, including leachate and gas management and monitoring of the surrounding environment.
