Shochu Waste Liquid Treatment Technology - April 1998
The OAM System is a technology for treating liquid waste generated during the shochu production process, developed in collaboration with Onga-cho, Fukuoka Prefecture's Peikaku Corporation. The system separates the liquid waste into organic components and water, and processes each into a reusable form. Instead of conventional ocean dumping, the system is expected to reduce treatment costs and environmental impact. The organic component is reused as fertilizer or animal feed, thereby increasing the effective utilization of waste. The technology has been widely accepted by local breweries and is being considered for application in other alcohol manufacturing industries.
