COP28 Dubai (November 2023) and Prospects for Climate Stabilization and Population Management
Climate Stabilization and Population Management in the 2020s has a goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 43% by 2030, but under current plans the reduction is expected to be only 2%. The world's population will reach 8.1 billion in 2024 and 9.8 billion in 2050, with particularly strong growth in the African region, while China's population is declining and aging. In cities, the "15-minute city" concept in Paris and the public transportation reform in Medellín, Colombia, are attracting attention as sustainable models. The NAPs will be developed by each country and will aim to achieve long-term climate stabilization through technology transfer and financial support.
