Eco-Town - Akita Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture Sagisawa town 1999.12.15

Akita Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture Sagisawa town approved eco-town from ministry and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Both are planning to develop an eco-town centered on waste appliance recycling facilities on the former mine site. Akita Prefecture will operate the plant in accordance with the enforcement of the consumer electronics recycling law, and will secure approximately 132,000 units per year, 30% of the four home appliances discharged in Tohoku 3 prefectures (Akita, Aomori, Iwate) for the time being. On the other hand, in Sagisawa town, we formulated the "Regional Development plan that harmonizes with the environment" which positioned the public home appliance recycling plant built at former Hosokura Junior high school. We have established a new company with several consumer electronics manufacturers, mainly Mitsubishi materials, to process 300,000 units annually.
