Biomass Energy Conversion Trajectory - December 1999 - January 2025
In the 1990s, research on gasification and pyrolysis technologies attracted attention, but these technologies were not commercialized. In the 2020s, gasification and saccharification/fermentation technologies improved, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sui-ing Engineering promoted development of new technologies. However, cost reduction and the development of supply networks are future issues, and further technological innovation through public-private partnerships is required.
