Global Warming Impacts and Responses in Nemuro City - A Historical Perspective

In Nemuro City, Hokkaido, the effects of climate change were already becoming apparent. Current Situation in the 2020s
The effects of global warming have become even more pronounced in Nemuro City, and data supporting the progression of global warming has been reported. According to statistics from the Japan Meteorological Agency, the annual average temperature in the Nemuro region is increasing at a rate of about 1.2°C per 100 years, and the frequency of short duration heavy rain has increased about 1.6 times compared to about 30 years ago.
