Hachinohe City Mega Solar Power Generation Facility (2011-2024)

Hachinohe City Mega Solar Power Generation Facility (2011-2024)

The mega solar power generation facility in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, was put into operation by Tohoku Electric Power Co. in December 2011. With an output of 150 kilowatts and annual power generation of 10,000,000 kilowatt-hours, the facility supplies enough electricity for approximately 300 households and reduces CO2 emissions by 180 tons per year. The plant has been expanded. Construction of two more facilities is underway, and biomass power generation and wind power generation using local resources are also being considered. With the cooperation of Tohoku Electric Power, local companies, Asahi Kasei, Sumitomo Chemical, and others, Hachinohe City is attracting attention as an advanced renewable energy region.
