A Man Who Wavers Between Entertainment and Conflict: The Trajectory of Hisashi Ishikawa, Sakae, Nagoya (1970s-2000s)

In the 1970s, Ishikawa, who belonged to the Hiramatsu clan under the Yamaguchigumi, established Meishin Jitsugyo in Nagoya and later promoted it to the Meishinkai, a directly subordinate organization. Based on his experience with the entertainment division "Kobe Geino", he also developed an entertainment business in Nagoya, which he called "Meishin Pro". In the area where the underworld and the entertainment industry intersected, he expanded his power through talent shows and event management.

In 1985, during the Yamaichi War, which began with the assassination of Masahisa Takenaka IV, Ishikawa was in a position to protect the gang leader, and on the same day, Meishinkai young leader Minami Chikara was shot and killed. In 2007, Ishikawa retired and his successor, Hiroshi Tabori, joined the Kodokai, and the Meishinkai was again promoted to a direct member of the Yamaguchigumi. The footprints of Hisashi Ishikawa, who set up his headquarters in Sakae, are etched deep in the memory of the city.
