Takuma developed a pioneering incineration ash recycling technology that crushes incineration ash into particles smaller than 25mm, mixes it with cement, and compresses it into construction materials. This technology, based in Osaka, primarily repurposes ash that would have been treated as waste, significantly reducing environmental impact. Traditionally, incineration ash would have been disposed of in landfills, but with this technology, the ash is utilized in construction materials, promoting waste reuse.

Crushed ash is mixed with cement and reprocessed into construction materials such as roadblocks and building blocks that require strength. Takuma's technology is designed to integrate with existing incineration facilities, making it adaptable for large-scale waste treatment in urban areas like Tokyo and Osaka.

What makes this technology unique is the process of crushing incineration ash into fine particles for reuse. Normally, incineration ash contains harmful substances, which would be disposed of in landfills. However, Takuma's approach neutralizes the ash and repurposes it for construction use, offering a novel method for waste disposal. Additionally, the technology is expected to replace traditional concrete blocks, contributing to cost reductions in construction.

In terms of numbers, approximately 100,000 tons of incineration ash per year are expected to be reused through this technology, and the construction materials produced from this ash exhibit strength equivalent to traditional materials. The repurposed ash is primarily used for road paving, building blocks, and interlocking blocks that promote water infiltration, providing flood prevention benefits in urban areas.

Companies like Osaka Gas, Obayashi Corporation, and Keihan Concrete Industries are actively collaborating on the implementation of this technology, advancing sustainable resource utilization through joint projects. These companies are leading efforts in environmental technology development, aiming to further expand the application of this innovative recycling process.
