Electricity from Renewable Energy - February 2003

Electricity from Renewable Energy - February 2003

Hall Network (Minato-ku, Tokyo), which operates Zepp live halls throughout Japan, has announced a plan to supply 2.4 million kWh of electricity annually to its five halls, including those in Tokyo and Osaka, by procuring power from two wind power plants, including the Noshiro Power Plant in Akita Prefecture. This initiative is aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy by utilizing Japan Natural Energy Company's "Green Power Certificate" system.

The introduction of wind power generation is part of the company's efforts to reduce its environmental impact, and is a pioneering effort among live facilities in Japan. The Noshiro Power Plant is a facility that takes advantage of the strong winds along the Japan Sea coast, and similar efforts may spread to other companies and municipalities in the future. Expanded use of renewable energy is expected to reduce the environmental impact of commercial facilities and promote the spread of natural energy.
