Mikuni Kairiku Kogyo - Kanazawa - October 2024

Mikuni Kairiku Kogyo, based in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, has partnered with American Gait Corp. since 2003 to introduce soil and groundwater contamination remediation technology. This technology uses microorganisms to break down toxic substances such as benzene, toluene, arsenic, and lead for remediation with minimal environmental impact. 2023 saw efficient results in a project in Kanazawa City, treating over 10,000 tons of contaminated soil annually. In particular, the remediation of contaminated soil caused by a leak at a gas station has achieved a cost reduction of more than 30% compared to previous projects. Furthermore, Mikuni Kairiku Kogyo is developing similar remediation projects in Niigata and Toyama prefectures, with annual sales topping 2 billion yen by 2022. Mikuni Kairiku Kogyo has plans to continue to pursue nationwide projects and expand its remediation business at industrial waste disposal sites and chemical plants.
