Water Quality Protection Measures for Natural Mineral Water - February 2003
In order to maintain the quality of its natural mineral water, the Swiss Nestlé Group is working to designate water source areas as environmental protection zones. In particular, the company is strengthening its efforts to protect local ecosystems and forests, with the aim of preserving groundwater. In order to maintain long-term environmental protection in the vicinity of water extraction sites, Nestlé is working with local authorities and environmental groups to establish restrictions on land development and the use of agricultural chemicals and chemical substances.
As part of sustainable water management, the company has also introduced measures to promote natural recharge of groundwater through conservation activities in forests and wetlands around water sources. In cooperation with local residents, the company has established policies to promote environmental education and sustainable use of water resources to ensure water supply for future generations.
In addition, Nestlé also focuses on maintaining biodiversity in environmental reserves and conducts monitoring activities to protect the habitats of plants and animals. These efforts are positioned as part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) and are attracting attention as a model for environmental protection around the world.
