Scat that wraps the night -- Saori Yuki echoes in the Japanese city in the 1970s

Saori Yuki made her debut in 1969 with "Dawn Scat" and became popular for her distinctive voice and elegant atmosphere. As Japan's rapid economic growth came to an end, and after the oil shock of 1973, Japanese society began to experience "anxiety in the midst of affluence. While folk and new music were on the rise in the music world, her urban mood songs were supported by the middle-aged and older generation, nightclubs, and snack bars, and established a firm position as music for adults.

In the 1970s, singing shows were popular on television, and Yuki Saori also appeared on "Kohaku Uta Gassen" and "Yoru no Hit Studio. Even amidst the idol boom, her calm singing became a staple at bars in Ginza and Akasaka, and she continued to be active regardless of the currents of the times. Along with Naomi Chiaki and Mina Aoe, who were active at the same time, she was known as a representative of mood songs.

In 1977, she was active in a variety of fields, including television, radio, and dinner shows, and was a part of the music world. As Japanese society moved from high growth to maturity, her songs became established as "a song to color the urban nightlife," and she continued to make her presence felt as music for adults.
