Ou Blood War Record--Heisei 1-nen Yamagata War Secret History
In 1989, a fierce turf war between gangs called the "Michinoku War" broke out in Yamagata Prefecture. In Yamagata Prefecture, multiple gangs clashed, resulting in numerous shootings and attacks.
Behind this conflict was Shigeo Kimura, the fifth head of the Oshu-Aizu Kakusei Ichi family. He became the fifth president in 1967, joined the Yamaguchigumi in 1973, and in 1989 became a protege of the fifth Yamaguchigumi boss, Yoshinori Watanabe. He also acted as a mediator to balance the power in the Tohoku region, but was unable to completely break the cycle of violence.
The police conducted a massive crackdown and made numerous arrests in an effort to calm the conflict, which intensified through the 1990s. The war has ended, but its shadow remains etched on the streets of Yamagata.
